About the Role We are seeking a Clinical Midwife Coordinator to join our maternity services at the Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Hospital. In this part-time role, working 48 hours per fortnight (0.6 FTE), you will provide day-to-day clinical leadership and coordination across our inpatient maternity services. As the central point of communication, you will ensure safe and efficient patient flow while managing resource allocation. You will play a key role in supporting our staff and maintaining high standards of care. Additionally, this position presents the opportunity to lead service improvement projects, mentor colleagues, and contribute to quality initiatives aimed at enhancing outcomes for women and their families. You will work closely with our Midwife Manager and the senior midwifery team to deliver exceptional maternity care while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. About the Team/Service/Location Our maternity team at Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital is dedicated to providing safe, culturally responsive, and woman-centered care. We collaborate closely with Lead Maternity Carers, medical staff, and allied health professionals to ensure seamless care throughout the maternity journey. About You As a successful Clinical Midwife Coordinator, you will possess: - A current registration with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand and a valid practicing certificate. - A minimum of five years of midwifery experience across various settings. - Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. - The ability to manage resources, coordinate patient flow, and support staff in a busy environment. - A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, equity, and culturally safe practice.
