We are currently seeking expressions of interest for experienced Boiler Technicians for an exciting assignment at McMurdo Station in Antarctica. About the Role The position is located at McMurdo Station, which hosts approximately 1,000 residents during the summer season. We are offering competitive pay, with rates of $45 per hour for wages and $55 per hour for contracting. There are two available intakes for this role: Intake 1: October 2025 - February 2026 Intake 2: February 2026 - October 2026 As a Boiler Technician, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining boilers to ensure efficient functioning in this challenging environment. Requirements To be considered for this position, you should have the following qualifications: - Unrestricted New Zealand Work Rights (please note, we do not provide sponsorship or visa variations) - Experience in operating and maintaining boilers - New Zealand Certificate in Energy and Chemical Operations (Boiler Operation) at Level 3, or an overseas equivalent What to Expect When You’re Down There During your assignment at McMurdo Station, we will provide accommodations in a shared room, along with free meals and flights from any major New Zealand airport. Your work schedule will typically be Monday to Saturday, from 7 AM to 5 PM. What to Expect Before You Start Prior to your assignment, you will need to complete a series of checks, including medical and dental assessments, criminal background and security checks, and vaccinations.
