About the Role We are currently seeking experienced Night Porters to join our casual staff team in Christchurch. This role offers the opportunity to explore various workplaces while enjoying flexible hours and the option for daily or weekly pay. As a Night Porter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our facilities during nighttime hours. Key responsibilities include: - Ensuring the safety and security of the premises throughout the night, including being in sole charge at times. - Assisting residents and patients with any overnight needs or requests. - Performing light cleaning and tidying duties to maintain a comfortable environment. - Monitoring building systems and reporting any issues. - Handling overnight deliveries and communications. - Providing a reassuring presence and serving as a point of contact during the night. - Completing necessary reports or logs. Requirements To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills: - A current First Aid Certificate. - Experience in a similar role, such as a Night Porter, security personnel, or first responder. - A responsible and reliable nature, with an ability to work independently. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - A proactive approach to ensuring safety and addressing the needs of residents. - Basic awareness of health and safety procedures. - A calm and professional attitude, particularly during quiet hours. - Reliability and a commitment to ensuring a peaceful night for our residents.
