About the Role We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team at Victoria University of Wellington. In this part-time, permanent position, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality food and service to students, staff, and visitors. Your responsibilities will include ensuring a clean, welcoming, and efficient dining experience. Your Responsibilities - Assist with food preparation, portioning, and presentation for service. - Provide friendly and professional customer service, addressing requests and feedback promptly. - Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in dining and kitchen areas, including dishwashing and waste management. - Replenish supplies and rotate stock to facilitate smooth service. - Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and health and safety procedures at all times. About You We are looking for a team player who demonstrates a flexible, can-do attitude and possesses strong communication skills. You should be physically fit, dependable, and capable of working independently when necessary. Previous experience in a catering or hospitality setting is an advantage. A commitment to high standards of hygiene, safety, and customer service is essential. Additionally, you must be able to pass a police clearance and other pre-employment checks.
