About the Role
We are seeking experienced and proactive Catering Supervisors to lead daily catering operations at one of our educational sites in Christchurch. In this role, you will supervise staff, support food production and service delivery, and ensure compliance with Compass Group’s Food Safety and Health & Safety systems. You will play a crucial role in contributing to an exceptional dining experience for residents.
Your Responsibilities
In this position, you will be responsible for delivering professional customer service by creating a friendly and welcoming environment, and effectively managing customer requests and complaints.
You will maintain clean, organized, and safe dining, kitchen, and public areas, which includes equipment cleaning, stock rotation, and supply replenishment.
A key part of your role will involve supervising, training, and coordinating team members, modeling high performance, leading inductions, and managing rostering and sick-cover processes.
You will also manage the cost of goods and inventory, ensuring accurate ordering, stock management, and waste minimization. Additionally, you will assist with food preparation and presentation while ensuring that all tasks comply with the site food safety plan and Compass Group procedures.
About You
We are looking for an experienced hospitality professional with strong communication skills, capable of leading, supporting, and motivating a team.
You should be flexible, organized, proactive, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
Physical fitness, reliability, and a strong work ethic are essential, along with a commitment to maintaining high presentation and hygiene standards.
Experience in a similar catering supervision or team-lead role is required, as well as a sound understanding of food safety and safe manual handling practices.
You must also be able to obtain Police Clearance and adhere to all Compass Group procedures and operational standards.
