About the Role
This is a permanent, full-time position with a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week. Our working hours are Monday to Friday, with opportunities for Saturday work as needed. The role offers competitive remuneration ranging from $30 to $50 per hour, depending on your experience. The position is based in Gisborne.
In this role, you will be responsible for performing services and repairs within a commercially acceptable timeframe while adhering to the highest industry standards. You will ensure accurate diagnosis and repair practices to minimize rework. It is essential to maintain a clean and safe work environment, presenting a professional image to our customers and colleagues.
You will also be tasked with the care and maintenance of workshop tools and equipment, ensuring they are returned to their designated places. Clear and concise documentation of each job is necessary, detailing all actions taken for accurate invoicing. Additionally, you will be responsible for recording all materials used during repairs and accurately logging working times for payroll and customer billing purposes. Other duties may be assigned as reasonably requested by management.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you should have at least three years of relevant and verifiable experience in the field. A Trade Certificate in Heavy Automotive Engineering (Level 4) or equivalent is preferred, though not essential.
You must hold a current Driver's License for Classes 2 to 5 or be willing to obtain one. Flexibility to meet operational demands, including shift work and occasional overnight travel, is necessary. A commitment to health and safety in the workplace is critical, and you will need to pass a workplace medical exam that includes drug and alcohol testing. Additionally, you must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand.
