About the Role
We are seeking an experienced roofing professional to join our client's team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing all trade and associated tasks related to fascia, spouting, downpipes, and general roofing work. Your expertise will include long run corrugated iron roofing, membrane experience, and metal cladding.
Key Responsibilities
You will prepare and install roofing materials, ensuring they fit roof edges, valleys, and around chimneys or vents. Your tasks will include:
- Installing long-run roofing and flashings to a high standard.
- Applying felt or waterproofing membranes before laying roofing materials.
- Using specialized tools, such as hammers, nail guns, and roofing scissors, to secure long-run materials to the roof structure.
In addition, you will be responsible for:
- Installing ridge caps, flashing, and trims to ensure a watertight finish.
- Applying finishing touches to enhance both durability and aesthetics.
- Ensuring all tiles are correctly aligned and securely fastened.
- Sealing any gaps or joints to prevent water ingress and air leaks.
- Checking for leaks and addressing any areas of concern.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in roofing.
- A strong knowledge of various roofing materials, techniques, and installation methods, including tiles and metal.
- The ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications for roofing projects.
- Familiarity with safety protocols for working at heights and using roofing tools.
- Experience with roofing tools such as nail guns, hammers, ladders, and scaffolding, along with safe working practices.
- Strong physical fitness and the ability to work at heights for extended periods.
- A detail-oriented, reliable, and safety-conscious approach to your work.
