About the Role
We are currently seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator with expertise in TIG and Stick welding to join our team. This position will involve working on-site and contributing to a variety of structural and civil works projects. We value precision and quality in our work, and we are looking for someone who shares this commitment.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for performing TIG and Stick welding on structural steel, pipework, and other components essential for our civil infrastructure projects.
We highly value ASME-qualified welders and prefer candidates with experience in 6G TIG welding for stainless steel.
Your duties will include fabricating and assembling metal structures and equipment based on technical drawings and site specifications.
You will ensure that all work meets the required specifications, tolerances, and quality standards.
Regular inspections and maintenance of welding equipment and tools will also be part of your responsibilities.
We expect you to adhere to health, safety, and environmental procedures both on-site and in the workshop. Additionally, you may assist in site installations and repairs as needed.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you should be a New Zealand-trained Welder/Fabricator with a minimum of three years of welding and fabricating experience in New Zealand.
You must be proficient in performing TIG and Stick welding on structural steel, pipework, and other components.
A strong ability to fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment from technical drawings and site specifications is essential.
You should be competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings and plans, as well as fabricating, cutting, and welding structural steel and pipe to civil engineering specifications.
Experience working in both workshop and on-site environments is important, along with a robust understanding of welding safety and PPE requirements.
Relevant welding qualifications or certifications (such as AS/NZS 1554 or equivalent) are required.
