About the Role We are currently seeking a Commercial Analyst to join our Tourism team. This role is pivotal in driving insight-led decision-making across our business. As a Commercial Analyst, you will report to the Tourism Finance Manager and be responsible for commercial analysis and reporting. This includes supporting various functions such as budgeting, business cases, and operational performance insights. In this hands-on position, you will collaborate closely with a diverse range of stakeholders throughout our tourism operations. Your expertise will help us make informed, data-driven decisions quickly and effectively. You will lead efforts to maintain and enhance budgeting models, prepare business cases, and deliver comprehensive reporting on key performance indicators, revenue drivers, and cost trends. Additionally, you will focus on asset management reporting and analysis, ensuring our fleet, vessels, and property assets are optimized for both performance and longevity. Your attention to detail and passion for continuous improvement will be essential as you identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance efficiency across our operations. Collaboration is vital in this role. You will build strong relationships with managers across Queenstown, Fiordland, and beyond, working closely with our data and reporting team to ensure consistency and accuracy. You will also contribute to monthly analysis, support key projects, and assist in developing non-financial KPIs that reflect our success on the ground. Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: - A degree in Finance, Commerce, or Economics (Undergraduate or Masters). - A minimum of 5 years experience in a commercial business role, with a solid understanding of revenue and cost drivers. - Experience with financial and asset management systems, particularly Maximo, along with proficiency in data analysis and reporting. - Strong capabilities in financial analysis, cost analysis (including variance explanations), and developing forecasting and budgeting models for both annual and long-term plans. - Advanced skills in Excel (including pivot tables and Power Query) and PowerBI, with the ability to translate data into clear reports for stakeholders. - The ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment. - A proactive and curious mindset, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
