About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Loss Prevention professional to join our team, reporting to our Customer Experience Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for reducing shrinkage and promoting profit protection across all areas of our store, which includes Retail, Garden, and Trade sections.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Creating and maintaining a secure work environment for all individuals within and around our store.
- Educating and encouraging staff to identify and deter potential thieves and fraudsters.
- Collaborating with local police and other retailers to share updates and information about known offenders in the area.
- Ensuring team members remain vigilant regarding suspicious customers through regular updates, including photographic evidence when available, and ongoing training.
- Utilizing appropriate techniques to apprehend shoplifters, as advised by local law enforcement or security experts, ensuring the safety of yourself and others.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who ideally have relevant work experience, but more importantly, you should possess the following qualities:
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
- A good level of physical fitness.
- A confident and friendly demeanor when interacting with a diverse range of internal and external customers.
- A quick, alert mind that demonstrates resilience and resourcefulness.
- A commitment to maintaining the highest levels of integrity and honesty at all times.
- Confidence in liaising with local police and other retailers for information exchange.
- Intermediate to advanced computer literacy skills; previous experience with CCTV systems is a plus.
- A collaborative spirit to work with teams in theft prevention efforts.
- A passion for ensuring our customers enjoy a fantastic shopping experience.
- A commitment to demonstrating positive and professional behavior at all times.
While prior experience in security or loss prevention roles is advantageous, it is not a strict requirement.
Benefits
We offer two specific roles: one for 32 hours, working 6 hours a day from Tuesday to Friday and 8 hours on Saturday, and another for 16 hours, working 8 hours a day on Sunday and Monday. Additional part-time opportunities that include one weekend day may also be available.
