    About the Company At Hindon Farm, we pride ourselves on being an energetic and innovative small team dedicated to excellent farming practices. Located just 40 minutes from Dunedin, we manage a sheep and beef farm that lambs 4,800 ewes and finishes approximately 8,000 lambs and 450 steers across 950 hectares. We are committed to fostering a supportive environment where our team can grow and thrive. About the Role We are seeking an experienced shepherd or someone with a passion for outdoor work who is looking to develop a career in farming. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with our farm manager, who will provide guidance and support for your professional development. Your key responsibilities will include: - Livestock management and stock work - Some tractor work (training will be provided) - Winter feeding - General farm maintenance and fencing Our diverse hill country terrain allows for ample opportunities for good dog work. We are looking for someone who enjoys variety in their work and is eager to engage with all aspects of farm life. About You You are passionate about farming and have a genuine love for working with livestock. You thrive in a small team environment where hard work translates into tangible results. Additionally, you are practical and consistently seek ways to improve your work processes. To be successful in this role, you will: - Enjoy working with animals and prioritize their welfare - Ideally have 1-2 working dogs, with the potential to expand - Be organized, reliable, and self-motivated in your daily tasks - Communicate effectively and collaborate well within a team - Be comfortable maintaining accurate records and utilizing farm technology, or be eager to learn - Take a proactive approach to health, safety, and the care of farm assets - Hold a valid restricted or full driver license Benefits We offer a competitive salary package that includes health and life insurance, enhanced parental leave benefits, and up to 4% KiwiSaver matching.
