About the Role
We are currently seeking Support Workers for vacancies in Upper and Lower Hutt. This role involves providing essential assistance to individuals in developing their independence and acquiring daily living skills. Key responsibilities include helping with public transportation, employment, financial management, and meal preparation. Depending on the specific needs of those we support, you may also assist with shopping, cleaning, personal hygiene, and medication administration.
Requirements
No prior experience in the health and disability sector is necessary; however, we value a strong desire to build a career as a Support Worker, along with a positive attitude. We provide comprehensive training and orientation for individuals who demonstrate enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
Candidates must be available to work flexible shifts, including daytime, evening, overnight, and weekends. Proficiency in using computers and tablets is required, along with strong written and verbal communication skills. Physical fitness is necessary to provide the required support, and applicants should possess a Full New Zealand driver's license or be willing to work towards obtaining one.
Benefits
We offer competitive hourly rates ranging from $23.84 to $29.10, depending on relevant qualifications, with opportunities for increased earnings as you gain additional certifications. IDEA Services will support you in completing the Level 2, 3, and 4 Certificates in Health and Wellbeing qualifications.
