About the Role
We are currently seeking a skilled and qualified Industrial Electrician to join our Kaitaia team. This position offers an excellent work-life balance, allowing you to enjoy the great outdoors during your time off. We have two full-time, permanent positions available: one requiring shift work and the other consisting of standard daytime hours.
In this role, you will engage in varied industrial electrical work, including equipment calibration, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting electrical systems. You will also provide essential support to our Production and Mechanical departments, ensuring smooth operations at our mills.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Calibrating electrical systems and equipment
- Carrying out preventative maintenance on electrical equipment
- Providing front-line support to production and mechanical departments
- Responding to breakdowns and overhauling various electrical equipment
- Diagnosing electrical controls and troubleshooting electrical systems
- Performing installations (Certificate of Compliance & Electrical Safety Certificate)
- Interrogating PLC systems to diagnose problems
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications and experience:
- Full New Zealand Electrical Registration (EWRB)
- Experience in the electrical maintenance of industrial plants is advantageous
- Familiarity with 3-phase motors, motor protection, motor controls, industrial sensors, and a variety of industrial electrical and control equipment
- Experience with Variable Speed Drives, PLC control, basic instrumentation, and encoders is also beneficial
- Experience with Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is a plus
