Container Hoist Driver - Night Shift

About the Role We are excited to invite a talented Container Hoist Operator to join our high-performing team at our busy Tauranga Depot. Please note that this is not a truck driver position. We are looking for team players who are eager to elevate their hoist operating skills by working with our 50-tonne container handlers. While previous container hoist operator experience is preferred, it is not essential. Confidence in working with heavy machinery is a must. Position: Container Hoist Operator - Night Shift Location: Sulphur Point, Tauranga Hours: Monday to Friday from 6 PM to 4 AM, with additional hours available for those interested. This is a full-time, permanent position with a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week, although the expected hours for this role are 50. What You Will Do - Support ground operations by moving containers around the yard as needed. - Communicate clearly and cooperatively using radio communication. - Operate a single or double stacker container hoist to assist with container stacking up to a maximum height of 8 containers (maximum rated capacity: 45,000 kg). - Load and unload trucks and work areas as necessary. - Adhere to all health and safety procedures at all times. What We Need To be successful in this role, you should be punctual, reliable, and possess a strong work ethic—all essential qualities for success. - Full NZ Class 1 License (essential) - Class 2 License (preferred but not essential) - Industry experience in driving heavy vehicles and confidence in working with heavy machinery (essential) - A demonstrated commitment to Zero Harm and safety in the workplace - Flexibility and adaptability to work across various company sites as needed (essential) - A team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with others - Clear communication skills using radio technology Please note that operating a Container Hoist is different from driving a regular hoist or forklift. We will provide training to ensure you are equipped to operate this machinery safely.
