    Description

About the Company Tradestaff Global is a leading recruitment agency dedicated to connecting skilled professionals with exciting job opportunities across various industries. We are currently seeking qualified HVAC Engineers with commercial experience to join our team for a unique project at McMurdo Station in Antarctica during the Summer of 2025/26. About the Role This role offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work in one of the most remote and breathtaking locations in the world. Deployments are expected to take place from approximately October 2025 through to March 2026. As an HVAC Engineer, you will contribute to a large commercial construction project in Antarctica. We are looking for hardworking team players who are willing to engage hands-on with the tools, perform essential tasks, and support one another in this challenging environment. Ideal candidates will have commercial experience with boilers, HVAC fans, unit heaters, hydronic pumps, wall radiators, and pipe fitting. Requirements Please note that due to travel restrictions, we can only accept applications from New Zealand and US citizens who hold a New Zealand or US passport and are currently living and working in New Zealand. Candidates must be willing to receive vaccinations for Flu, Tdap, and MMR. The positions available are not ‘fly in fly out’ roles; you will be on-site for an extended period, working long hours, six days a week. Start dates are approximate and contingent upon passing medical and dental checks, obtaining security clearance, your notice period, and ice flight availability. Additionally, candidates must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test, possess a Full Class 1 NZ Driver Licence, and have a clean criminal record. The application process can be lengthy, and we ask for patience as you navigate through it. Candidates may need to travel to Tauranga for medical and dental examinations, with costs covered by us if traveling from outside the Bay of Plenty. Benefits We offer competitive compensation at a rate of $73.64 per hour, with payment made on a contract basis, fortnightly in New Zealand dollars, for a total of 54 hours per week. Additional benefits include flights provided from any major New Zealand airport, shared accommodation, food, and travel insurance. All Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be supplied. While the work is demanding, it presents a great opportunity to save money, gain invaluable experience, and forge lasting friendships. If this unique experience resonates with your aspirations, we encourage you to apply. What Now? To apply, please submit your application online with an updated CV that details your commercial construction skills and experience, including the types of projects you have worked on. If your initial application is successful, we will reach out to provide additional information regarding the interview and verification process. Candidates should be proficient in IT, possess strong attention to detail, follow instructions diligently, and manage complex paperwork effectively. We look forward to your application. Adventure awaits! Please note that we only accept online applications. You will receive an automatic acknowledgment upon successful submission of your application.
