About the Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our team based at our Pomare Depot in Lower Hutt. This full-time position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, with opportunities for additional earnings through overtime and on-call work. The total remuneration for this role ranges from $56,881 to $80,303, which includes KiwiSaver, and is determined by your skills and experience.
In this role, you will assist with the daily operations of our drainage network, focusing on both wastewater and stormwater systems. Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring a free-flowing wastewater and stormwater piped network
- Minimizing sewage overflow and pipeline infiltration
- Installing new connections, performing network repairs, and clearing blockages
- Inspecting and conducting routine maintenance in key problem areas
- Constructing and adjusting manholes and pipelines
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should ideally have experience with basic repairs in drainage networks. Additional requirements include:
- Experience operating small plant and machinery
- Proficiency in using technology, such as an iPad or tablet, for recording information
- A full, clean driver's license (Class 2, W, T, F endorsements are advantageous)
- A strong commitment to health and safety practices in the workplace
- A reliable and hardworking attitude
- Flexibility to work on a roster that includes shift work and standby duties
