Our Assets & Infrastructure team plays a vital role in ensuring operational readiness, resilience, and reliability. We are currently looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic team and lead procurement initiatives that align with our ethical practices, value delivery, and technical excellence. About the Role In this position, you will report to the Technical Operations Manager and collaborate with various business units. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the sourcing of parts, equipment, and services provides long-term value, supports continuity, and drives continuous improvement throughout our supply chain. Key Responsibilities As a Procurement Specialist, you will engage in the following key activities: - Strategic Sourcing & Cost Optimization: Analyze supply chains, market conditions, and cost structures to inform procurement decisions that maximize value and mitigate risk. - Operational Procurement Execution: Manage daily procurement activities, including ordering, receiving, and supplier coordination, to support critical technical and operational functions. - Supplier Management & Governance: Oversee supplier onboarding, performance monitoring, and relationship management to ensure alignment with contract terms and service level expectations. - Procurement Planning & Inventory Coordination: Work closely with operations and inventory users to forecast needs and ensure stock availability for critical equipment and assets. - Ethical and Sustainable Procurement: Advocate for responsible procurement practices that align with our corporate sustainability goals and industry standards. - Tendering & Contract Management: Lead or assist in structured sourcing processes (RFPs/RFTs) and contribute to negotiation and contract execution. - Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to processes and policies that strengthen procurement controls and efficiency. - Health & Safety: Contribute to a safe working environment by embedding health and safety considerations into procurement and supplier practices. - Team Collaboration: Build strong internal relationships and foster a "One Team" culture across technical and operational groups. What You'll Bring To be successful in this role, you will ideally have: - Demonstrated experience in procurement, supply chain, or logistics, preferably in a technical or operational setting. - A tertiary qualification in procurement, supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field (preferred but not essential). - Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, contract management, and supplier governance frameworks. - Commercial acumen with the ability to analyze cost structures, negotiate effectively, and manage risk. - Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, emphasizing collaboration and value delivery. - A high level of initiative, attention to detail, and a focus on continuous improvement and innovation. - Familiarity with procurement systems, ERP platforms, and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
