About the Role We have a unique opportunity for a skilled Electrical Tradesman to join our nightshift maintenance team at our Kennington site, located just 10 minutes east of Invercargill. This is a full-time, permanent position with a minimum of 40 hours per week and opportunities for overtime at a trade-exclusive overtime rate. The base schedule consists of four ten-hour shifts from Monday to Thursday. Please note that we will only consider applications from candidates who possess the correct employment eligibility and are currently residing in New Zealand. As an Electrical Tradesman at Niagara, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operations of our sawmill and remanufacturing plant. Your responsibilities will include performing preventative maintenance, addressing electrical breakdowns, supporting new installations, and contributing to electrical improvements and project work. Key Responsibilities - Conduct preventative electrical maintenance and fault-finding - Respond to and repair electrical breakdowns in a fast-paced industrial environment - Install, maintain, and service PLCs, variable speed drives, switchgear, and motors - Commission new electrical systems - Collaborate with the wider Maintenance Team, including Engineers - Manage electrical projects and installations, such as switchboards and power supply systems Requirements To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria: - A minimum of three years of industrial electrical experience in New Zealand - EWRB registration as an Electrician - Familiarity with three-phase power systems, fault finding, and PLC programming - Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach - Physically fit and capable of working in a demanding industrial environment - A full New Zealand driver's license and the legal right to work in New Zealand We are looking for individuals who embody our values: those who are active team players, operate with integrity, take ownership of their work, and are committed to doing things right.
