Selwyn Village, located in Point Chevalier, is one of New Zealand's largest and most respected retirement communities. With a legacy that began in 1954, we take pride in providing a modern and welcoming environment for older adults while adhering to our compassionate, person-centered values.
As we continue to grow and evolve, we are seeking a Senior Sales Consultant with relevant experience in the retirement village sector to join our dedicated team and lead our sales function. This position is ideal for someone who understands the decision-making process and sensitivities involved for older individuals and their families.
About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the entire sales and relationship process for Selwyn Village’s highly sought-after retirement apartments and villas. Your primary focus will be to guide prospective residents and their families through one of life’s most significant transitions with empathy, professionalism, and clarity.
Currently, we have over 300 apartments across eight buildings, in addition to several villas, with further developments planned. We also operate a smaller site in Birkenhead, which includes 12 villas.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing enquiries, tours, follow-ups, and sales documentation
- Guiding potential residents and their families with empathy and professionalism
- Ensuring full compliance with the Retirement Villages Act and Code of Practice
- Maintaining and nurturing a database of prospects
- Coordinating and attending promotional events and weekend tours
About You
We are looking for an experienced sales professional from the retirement living sector. You should have a strong understanding of the unique customer journey involved in retirement living decisions, along with the ability to blend compassion with commercial acumen.
Key requirements include:
- Ideally, 3-5 years of sales experience within the retirement living sector
- A proven track record of high-value, trust-based selling
- A deep understanding of the retirement living environment
- Familiarity with the Retirement Villages Act and best practices in retirement living
- Experience in developing and executing sales strategies
- Highly organized with excellent communication and documentation skills
- Tech-savvy and comfortable using CRM systems
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a small, supportive team
- Availability for occasional weekend work, with flexibility during the week
