About the Role
We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Technical Coordinator to join our growing Technical team on the night shift at our Henderson production site. Our facility operates 24 hours a day, five days a week, so flexibility is essential in meeting production demands. This position will typically be scheduled from Monday to Friday, 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM. To ensure your success, we will begin your onboarding and training on the day shift from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM for the first two months.
As a Technical Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in overseeing quality, compliance, and food safety within our Further Processing area. You will collaborate across the site to uphold high standards and promote a strong quality culture during production.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include investigating and resolving non-conformances while conducting internal audits, performing verification tasks, and engaging in technical analysis and report writing. You will lead food safety, quality, and technical projects, ensuring the successful implementation of new products and initiatives.
Additionally, you will administer technical systems and support the site’s Risk Management Program (RMP), Quality Management System (QMS), GFSI certification, and customer compliance requirements. Organizing and executing daily technical tasks related to food safety, quality, compliance, and animal welfare will also be key components of your role. Furthermore, you will foster a strong quality culture across the site by driving continuous improvement and corrective actions.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess strong teamwork and collaboration skills, along with a proactive, "can-do" attitude. You will need the ability to interpret food safety, quality, compliance, and animal welfare issues while proposing and implementing effective solutions.
Effective communication skills are essential, particularly in processing written information with a high level of accuracy. We require a tertiary qualification in Food Technology or Food Science, along with a minimum of one year of experience in quality assurance or compliance. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical/reporting skills are also necessary.
Nice-to-haves include knowledge of Risk Management Programmes (RMP) and Quality Management Systems (QMS), an understanding of introductory HACCP, familiarity with GFSI programmes and customer food safety requirements, experience in internal auditing, and knowledge of animal health and welfare regulations.
Benefits
At Tegel, we strive to create an environment where you can thrive, grow, and make a significant impact. If you are passionate about food safety, compliance, and technical excellence, this is your opportunity to contribute meaningfully to our mission.
