About the Role
We are currently seeking a Treatment Team Leader for our Radiation Oncology department at Dunedin Hospital. In this leadership position, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe, appropriate, and timely delivery of contemporary high-quality treatment to patients within the Southern Blood and Cancer Service.
Your responsibilities will include providing both strategic and operational leadership to radiation therapists, with a focus on those in the Treatment area. You will work closely with Treatment supervisors to promote excellence in practice standards and professional conduct, while fostering collaboration across pre-treatment and treatment teams, as well as with the broader multidisciplinary oncology team. You will be expected to manage your team effectively within allocated resources, promoting efficiency, productivity, and patient safety.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the New Zealand Medical Technologists Board (MRTB)
- A current MRTB (NZ) issued Annual Practising Certificate in Radiation Therapy
- A minimum of five years of clinical experience as a Radiation Therapist, with at least three years being current
- Demonstrated expertise in delivering advanced and technically complex radiation therapy treatments, ensuring precision and optimal patient outcomes
- A proven track record in staff training, mentoring, and professional development, fostering a collaborative and skilled clinical team
- A deep commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care, with a strong focus on empathy, safety, and support throughout the radiation therapy journey
- Involvement in quality improvement initiatives and projects
