About the Role
We are seeking a Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant to join our welcoming team at the Levin village. This position goes beyond traditional cleaning; you will be an essential part of maintaining a clean, inviting, and dignified environment for our residents.
In this role, you will help create a comfortable and safe atmosphere for our residents, their whānau, and fellow team members. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Performing high-quality cleaning in resident rooms, bathrooms, communal areas, and kitchen facilities
- Laundering, folding, and returning residents' clothing and linens with care
- Labeling, mending, and maintaining residents' personal laundry items
- Supporting infection control measures and adhering to health and safety protocols
- Building friendly and respectful relationships with residents while understanding their unique needs
This is a casual position, and you will work on an as-needed basis.
Requirements
You will be an excellent fit for this role if you:
- Have experience in housekeeping, ideally within healthcare or hospitality
- Take pride in your work and pay attention to detail
- Are physically fit and comfortable working on your feet
- Possess a genuine interest in aged care (no prior experience is necessary; full training will be provided)
