About the Role
We are currently looking for experienced Stainless Steel Welder/Fabricators to join our team in the Bay of Plenty region. In this role, you will contribute to a variety of projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship while adhering to safety standards. Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding and proven experience working with stainless steel are essential for success in this position.
You will engage in diverse welding and fabrication projects throughout the Bay of Plenty region, becoming part of a company that prioritizes professional standards and employee development.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks on various projects.
- Accurately read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Utilize various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and ARC.
- Select, clean, and prepare metal stock for fabrication.
- Fabricate, shape, and bend custom metal components and pipes using hand and machine tools, as well as plasma and laser cutters.
- Work with structural steel and other metal stock to repair products and structures such as boilers and pressure vessels.
- Examine welds for width of bead, penetration, and precision.
- Finish products through cleaning, polishing, filing, and bathing in acidic solutions.
- Join metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting, and riveting.
Skills and Experience
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in stainless steel welding and fabrication.
- Trade qualifications are preferred; however, extensive experience may substitute for formal qualifications.
- Proven experience with stainless steel, including cutting, welding, polishing, and fabricating components to precise specifications.
- Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
- Possession of personal tools.
- Reliable transportation.
- At least two work references.
- A strong commitment to health and safety protocols.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
