About the Role
We are seeking enthusiastic Trainee Line Mechanics to join our Lines Construction and Maintenance team. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for individuals to develop a hands-on trade, achieve recognized qualifications, and advance their careers in a supportive environment.
In this role, you will assist the team in the construction and maintenance of overhead electricity lines. You will learn to operate electrical equipment up to 33kV and help with the installation and replacement of pole structures, conductors, and hardware. You will participate in block courses, gain valuable hands-on experience in the field, and ensure that all documentation, inspections, and reporting are completed accurately. Throughout your training, you will prioritize safety, communicate effectively, and contribute to a positive and productive team atmosphere.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess a valid New Zealand Driver Licence and exhibit strong communication skills and a positive attitude. You should be comfortable working at heights, physically fit, and committed to maintaining safe work practices. Most importantly, we are looking for individuals who are motivated to learn, eager to develop new skills, and passionate about building a long-term career in the electricity industry.
