About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Traffic Management Foreperson to join our team in Timaru. This is an excellent opportunity for a traffic management professional to contribute to the effective operation and delivery of temporary traffic management across our Timaru network.
In this role, you will lead the implementation of temporary traffic management in the field. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that traffic management standards are upheld, safeguarding both our teams and the public.
Your specific duties will include:
- Supervising temporary traffic management at various worksites across the district, ensuring compliance with current codes of practice and NZGTTM.
- Assisting in the transition to the NZGTTM, adopting a risk-based traffic management approach.
- Overseeing multiple traffic management crews, including both internal teams and subcontractors.
- Ensuring that Traffic Management site setups meet client requirements, schedules, and address Safety, Quality, and Environmental components.
- Training and developing Timaru Traffic Management staff to deliver effective temporary traffic management solutions.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Relevant STMS qualification.
- Full Class 1 drivers' licence (Class 2 is beneficial).
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in traffic management.
- A proactive approach to health and safety, as it is our number one priority.
- Outstanding leadership skills, with proven experience in supervising and leading teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a capacity to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to develop positive relationships with key stakeholders.
- General computer literacy and proficiency in the MS Office suite.
