About the Role We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Water Installer to join our award-winning civil construction team. In this hands-on role, you will have the opportunity to make a tangible difference in your community while working with a company that prioritizes employee growth and development. As a Water Installer, your primary responsibilities will include installing and replacing Smart Meters, executing specific potable water-related tasks such as trenching, pipelaying, water cut-ins, and backfilling to Christchurch City Council standards. You will also be responsible for operating machinery on-site, provided you hold the appropriate licenses. In this role, you will read and interpret site drawings to ensure precise installations, conduct routine site and safety checks to identify potential hazards, and collaborate effectively with on-site teams, engineers, and supervisors. Additionally, you will record and report progress, materials usage, and any issues that arise. Requirements To be successful in this position, you should have: - A Christchurch City Council certification for Water Installer (or be actively working towards it) preferred. - Previous experience in water installation, civil plumbing, pipe laying, or a related field. - A positive, safety-first attitude with a strong ability to follow instructions. - Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work well with colleagues from diverse backgrounds. - Physical fitness and a willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions. - A full New Zealand driver’s license (Class 1); WTR endorsements or a Class 2 license are advantageous but not mandatory. - Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
