At Stellar, we are seeking an experienced Workshop Foreman or a Light Automotive Technician who is ready to advance into a more senior role while still enjoying hands-on work. About the Role
This position is a varied role that encompasses leadership responsibilities and involves overseeing a team of three technicians. You will also assist the Service Manager with customer interactions and the planning of workshop flow as needed. Our team prides itself on creating a welcoming environment for all, and we value candidates who have a strong track record and enjoy sharing their expertise to help others through complex repairs and diagnostics.
To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
- An essential Automotive Trade qualification
- WOF Certification (or a willingness to obtain one)
- A high level of experience with Kia and Hyundai vehicles
- High Voltage Certification is highly regarded
- A full, clean New Zealand Driver's License

Key Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles according to manufacturer standards
- Ensuring effective communication with the front desk service teams
- Maintaining accurate records of repairs, services, and warranty processes
- Collaborating closely with the Service Manager to coordinate workshop operations
- Adhering to all health and safety regulations within the workshop
This role is open to local applicants in New Zealand or work visa holders who are looking to return to the Kia or Hyundai brand.
