    Vineyard Operations Manager About the Company Mudbrick Vineyard and Restaurant is a prestigious luxury destination located on Waiheke Island, renowned for its award-winning wines, impeccable hospitality, and boutique accommodation. We pride ourselves on creating exceptional experiences for our guests, and we are currently seeking a Vineyard Operations Manager to be a key part of our dedicated team. About the Role In this full-time position, you will report directly to the General Manager of Wine and Viticulture. As the Vineyard Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing day-to-day vineyard activities across our five diverse sites. Your hands-on approach will be essential in managing vineyard operations, assisting with logistics and scheduling, and collaborating closely with our viticulture team to ensure the continuous production of premium wines. Responsibilities Your primary responsibilities will include managing and performing all daily vineyard operations across multiple sites. You will assist with planning, logistics, and seasonal work schedules, while overseeing canopy management, pest and disease control, soil health, and the care of young vines. Safety and efficiency in operating vineyard machinery and tractors will be paramount. You will lead, supervise, and train vineyard staff and seasonal workers, fostering a collaborative environment with the wine and viticulture team to meet production targets. Additionally, you will monitor and manage operational budgets and resource planning to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. Requirements We are looking for candidates who possess a strong work ethic and a hands-on, can-do attitude. Practical knowledge of vineyard management and viticulture practices is essential, along with experience operating vineyard machinery and being a competent tractor driver. Proven leadership skills are necessary, as you will inspire and train others on our team. Excellent communication skills and a focus on teamwork are vital for success in this role. The ability to plan and manage operations within budget is also required. A full New Zealand Driver’s Licence is necessary for this position. Qualifications While no formal qualifications are required, relevant qualifications in viticulture or agriculture will be considered advantageous. Location and Hours The position is based at 126 Church Bay Road, Oneroa, Waiheke Island. Candidates must either reside on or be willing to relocate to Waiheke Island. This is a full-time role, with a minimum commitment of 30 hours per week. We also offer temporary accommodation in staff housing to assist with your transition to island life.
