About the Role We are seeking a Quality Assessor to play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards that Zespri is known for. In this position, you will conduct thorough audits of industry facilities to ensure compliance with the Zespri System. This encompasses both our internal quality protocols and external regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for ensuring adherence to MPI Phytosanitary standards, NZ Customs regulations, and global food safety systems such as GFSI. Your work will be vital in guaranteeing excellence at every stage of our processes. This is a permanent seasonal position based in Nelson, running from February through November. While you will be employed on a permanent basis, your working hours and responsibilities will center around the main kiwifruit season. Flexibility is essential, as availability for weekends and night shifts will be required according to the audit schedule. Outside of the main season, your hours may vary, but your employment with Zespri will continue throughout the year. Requirements Your key responsibilities will include: - Conducting comprehensive audits of facilities while meticulously maintaining audit plans, compiling detailed reports, and ensuring accurate record-keeping. - Achieving and maintaining the prestigious designation of a Zespri Quality Assessor. - Building strong partnerships with industry stakeholders responsible for quality and compliance, and fostering collaboration with Quality, Compliance, Cool Store, Inventory, and Site managers. - Executing regulatory audit plans for industry facilities, covering essential areas such as Phytosanitary measures, NZ Customs protocols, and global food safety standards. - Developing and implementing audit strategies for the Zespri quality system, with a focus on risk mitigation and continuous improvement. - Effectively communicating Zespri's quality expectations to industry partners and nurturing the development of robust quality frameworks. - Promptly addressing and reporting quality issues identified by the market, including customer complaints and claims. - Collaborating seamlessly with fellow QA team members, providing support and expertise as needed.
