About the Role We are excited to offer an entry-level opportunity in the port logistics industry. This position does not require prior experience, as we provide comprehensive training to ensure your success. For individuals who demonstrate the right attitude and aptitude, there are opportunities for growth and advancement within our organization. The role takes place at the Checkpoint, where logging trucks arrive to have their logs measured and prepared for export. As a Log Scaler or Checkpoint Processor, you will manually measure each log according to international standards. You will then barcode and scan the logs into our system, allowing us to track each log throughout the process. Our Checkpoint operates in a team-oriented environment where the safety of our staff is our top priority. We operate five days a week, from Monday to Friday, with shifts starting at 3:30 AM and lasting up to 12 hours. We offer a guaranteed number of hours per month, along with a competitive starting rate of $27.58 per hour. About You We are looking for individuals who are detail-oriented and precise when taking measurements. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will interact with truck drivers and team members regularly. This position is physically demanding and requires you to be active and on your feet for most of your shift. Additionally, comfort with operating scanning equipment is important, and a full Class 1 license is preferred.
