About the Role
We are excited to announce a temporary, full-time opportunity for a registered nurse with a passion for clinical research to join the RCTS Clinical Trials Unit at Palmerston North Hospital. This position will focus on disciplines such as Radiation Oncology, Clinical Haematology, and Medical Oncology.
In this role, you will play a vital part in the cancer treatment development process through clinical trials. Responsibilities include patient recruitment for clinical trials, educating both staff and patients, conducting patient assessments, performing investigations, providing clinical nursing care, administering investigational drugs (including chemotherapy), collecting and reporting data, and managing ongoing study coordination for the clinical trials. You will collaborate closely with patients, the multidisciplinary team, and external sponsors.
This is a full-time position (1.0 FTE) covering paid parental leave, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
About You
We are seeking a dynamic and resilient nurse with a minimum of two years of broad nursing experience. Ideal candidates will have a strong interest in clinical research and possess the following skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build working relationships
- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
- Proficient written communication skills
- Computer literacy
While prior experience in clinical trials or in blood and cancer nursing is advantageous, we are committed to providing education and training to successful applicants.
