About the Role
We are currently seeking skilled Hammerhands to join our team in Hawkes Bay. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work alongside Trade Qualified personnel and contribute to a variety of projects. As a Hammerhand, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with form-work, laying building foundations, and preparing boxing/shuttering for cement
- Mixing and pouring cement, as well as installing gib/drywall and flooring
- Finishing roofing and making repairs to both internal and external structures to ensure safety
- Assisting in the erection of scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level, which may involve working at heights on elevated work platforms, roofs, and scaffolds
- Safely maintaining and operating a wide range of carpentry tools and equipment while working around plant and heavy machinery
- Completing all activities in a safe and efficient manner
- Providing and utilizing your own hand tools and apron
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you should meet the following criteria:
- Currently working towards your Level 4 Certificate in Carpentry or have a minimum of 3 years of experience on the tools
- Possess your own hand tools and apron; having power tools is an advantage
- Hold a minimum restricted license and have your own transport for commuting to and from the site, which is essential
- Be capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Follow instructions and communicate clearly with supervisors
