About the Role We are currently seeking a skilled STMS (Site Traffic Management Supervisor) to join our team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient management of traffic around our construction sites. Your primary duties will include implementing traffic management plans, supervising a team of traffic controllers, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards. This position is essential for the smooth operation of our projects and the safety of all road users. This is a permanent, full-time role, primarily working Monday to Friday starting at 6 am. The position requires a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week, with the flexibility to work additional days and hours as needed to meet business demands. Key Responsibilities - Supervise and lead a team of traffic controllers. - Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including CoPTTM standards. - Monitor traffic flows and make adjustments to management plans as necessary. - Conduct site inspections to maintain safe and efficient traffic management. - Liaise with site managers, contractors, and local authorities. - Provide training and support to traffic controllers. - Report on traffic management activities and incidents. What You'll Bring to the Role - STMS Qualification with either Category A or B practicing. - A safety-first attitude towards yourself, your team, and the public. - A full clean New Zealand Driver's License, with a minimum of Class 1; Class 2 is desirable. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Previous experience in mentoring and supervising crews. - Proven experience in the traffic industry. - A high level of physical fitness due to the demands of the role. - Reliability, honesty, and flexibility.
