About the Role
We are looking for a Water Engineer to join our Water Services Unit within the Utilities and Roading Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and skilled professional with expertise in water engineering to become part of a progressive and customer-focused council.
In this role, you will have overall responsibility for the operation of our water supplies. This includes managing maintenance contracts, handling service requests, ensuring compliance with consents, and responding to natural events. As a vital member of the Water Operations team, you will help ensure that our water supply systems are operated and maintained to high standards, delivering water services safely and efficiently.
Our ideal candidate will possess experience in water supply systems and have a solid understanding of operations and maintenance contracts and practices. Strong system analysis skills are essential, as well as the ability to foster effective relationships with internal staff and contractors. We are seeking someone with a positive, proactive attitude who can communicate effectively.
Requirements
- Relevant qualifications in engineering, preferably a degree in Water Engineering.
- Experience with water supply systems and knowledge of operations and maintenance contracts.
- Strong system analysis skills.
- Ability to develop relationships with internal teams and external contractors.
- Positive attitude and effective communication skills.
