Our organization, Health New Zealand Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua MidCentral (MidCentral), provides healthcare services to over 180,000 individuals across the Manawatu, Horowhenua, and Tararua regions. Our large hospital campus in Palmerston North serves as a vital hub for healthcare and support services in the surrounding communities. About the Role We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a permanent Radiation Therapist position at New Zealand's first outreach treatment site, located in New Plymouth. We are looking for enthusiastic Radiation Therapists who are interested in contributing to the Regional Cancer Treatment Service (RCTS), which serves as the non-surgical cancer treatment provider for the central North Island, catering to a population of 580,000 across the Midcentral, Hawkes Bay, Taranaki, Whanganui, and Wairarapa Districts. Historically, all radiation treatments have been delivered in Palmerston North, but we are evolving to better serve our patients in the Taranaki and Hawkes Bay regions. This position is a crucial part of that initiative. RCTS is equipped with New Zealand's newest linear accelerator fleet (TrueBeam) and a state-of-the-art planning system (RayStation). Our organization fosters a strong culture of patient-centered care, emphasizing high-quality Radiation Therapy for our large regional population. We offer excellent opportunities for ongoing education and collaboration with like-minded professionals who have received training both in New Zealand and internationally. Requirements To be considered for this role, applicants must possess the following qualifications: - Registration as a Radiation Therapist with the Medical Radiation Technologist Board (NZ) and a current practicing certificate. - The ability to promote effective communication, cultural competence, and evidence-based best practice models within their practice. - A proactive approach to personal development and a commitment to supporting the professional growth of others. - Active participation in service improvement initiatives and promotion of evidence-based practice. - Flexibility to work across multiple locations. Benefits The MidCentral region offers a wonderful lifestyle for families, featuring scenic spots for hiking and mountain biking, as well as access to excellent schools and tertiary institutions. With the mountains, city, and sea at your doorstep, you can enjoy the best of both rural and urban living.
