About the Role
We are currently looking for a reliable and hardworking full-time Street Cleaner to become a valued member of our team. In this role, you will primarily work in pairs to maintain the public areas of Auckland City. Your responsibilities will include emptying rubbish bins, picking up litter, and performing light gardening tasks. You may also be required to assist with basic public toilet cleaning, particularly when a team member is unavailable.
While you will generally work alongside a teammate, especially during evening and weekend shifts, it is important that you are comfortable working independently when necessary.
What You Will Be Doing
- Conducting general street cleaning and litter pickup
- Emptying public rubbish bins
- Performing light gardening and upkeep of public spaces
- Occasionally cleaning public toilets
- Supporting event clean-up during the summer season
- Driving a work vehicle (manual transmission)
What You Will Need
- A full New Zealand Driver Licence, with the ability to drive a manual vehicle
- Availability to work from Wednesday to Sunday
- Work hours:
- Winter: 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM
- Summer: Flexible start and finish times due to city events
- Comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Good physical fitness and a positive attitude
