Description
About the Company
Riviera Prenail is a specialized, semi-automated manufacturing facility located in Silverdale, dedicated to producing prefabricated timber frames, trusses, and structural components for the building industry. As a proudly Kiwi-owned business, we pride ourselves on our commitment to innovation, precision, and fostering a positive team culture. Our goal is to deliver high-quality solutions to our trade partners throughout Auckland. With increasing demand and the launch of a second production line, we are excited to expand our team.
About the Role
We are seeking a full-time, permanent team member for our Silverdale workshop. This role involves working 40 to 50 hours per week, Monday to Friday, as part of a close-knit fabrication crew. You will be responsible for cutting, shaping, and assembling timber components using both hand tools and automated machinery.
In this position, you will work on various structural timber components, including trusses, beams, and wall frames, producing prefabricated units that are ready for transport and installation by others. The hourly rate for this role ranges from $25.00 to $32.00, depending on experience. You will report to either the Production or Scheduling Manager.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should have three or more years of experience in timber joinery, carpentry, or frame and truss fabrication, or possess a relevant New Zealand Level 4 trade qualification that meets ANZSCO Skill Level 3 requirements. A strong understanding of timber grades and fabrication methods is essential, along with the ability to read technical plans and specifications.
You should also be skilled in operating nail guns, drop saws, presses, and automated cutting tools. Familiarity with CNC and jig systems is advantageous. A reliable work ethic, a strong focus on health and safety, and a full Class 1 NZ Driver's License are also required.
Your Day-to-Day
In this role, you will cut, shape, and assemble timber joinery components in a workshop environment. Your tasks will include fabricating wall frames, roof trusses, beams, and posi-struts, as well as using hydraulic and pneumatic press systems for assembly. You will work from specifications and drawings to ensure accurate production, maintain tools and equipment, and contribute to a safe work environment. Additionally, you will complete basic stock and quality control documentation.
Benefits
We offer permanent, full-time job security within a growing business. All work is factory-based, eliminating the need for site installations. Our modern equipment and purpose-built plant provide an efficient workspace, and we offer generous staff discounts at select Mitre 10 and Columbus Café locations.
