At Trade Assist, we pride ourselves on connecting skilled tradespeople with a variety of exciting projects across New Zealand. We currently have a wealth of opportunities available in the Northland region, where we are seeking approximately 70 carpenters to join our team. We offer competitive pay rates for the right candidates and have ongoing work available for the next three years.
About the Role
We have an array of carpentry work starting immediately, catering to different skill sets. Our projects range from large commercial jobs requiring experience in formwork, steel, and concrete, to high-end residential work that involves framing and both interior and exterior cladding. The maximum hours available each week can reach up to 55, ensuring you have consistent work.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should have at least three years of experience in carpentry. It is essential that you own a toolbelt and power tools. We are looking for individuals who are fit, possess a strong work ethic, and have an excellent understanding of health and safety practices. While a valid Site Safe certification is advantageous, it is not mandatory.
Tasks
As a carpenter with us, your responsibilities will include:
- Ordering and selecting timber and materials while preparing layouts
- Cutting materials and assembling various components
- Erecting frameworks, panelized systems, and roof framing
- Laying sub-flooring and floorboards while ensuring the accuracy of structures
- Nailing fascia panels, sheathing roofs, and fitting exterior wall cladding as well as door and window frames
- Assembling prepared wood to create structures and fittings ready for installation
- Cutting wood joints to specifications

We offer competitive hourly rates between $28.00 and $33.00, with guaranteed weekly pay and a minimum of 30 hours of work per week.
