About the Role
We are currently seeking enthusiastic and personable Wētā Cave Hosts who are bilingual in Mandarin and English. If you have a passion for storytelling and enjoy engaging with people, this role might be perfect for you. As a Wētā Cave Host, you will guide our tours and represent Wētā Workshop to our valued guests.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering guided experiences through our tour space in both Mandarin and English to bring our creative journey to life.
- Leading guests through immersive and creative experiences.
- Being an integral part of our retail team in the Wētā Cave shop.
- Selling and processing tickets.
- Inspiring guests to start their own collections by sharing your enthusiasm, product knowledge, and sales expertise, creating a retail experience that is truly unique.
Requirements
We would love to hear from you if you possess the following qualifications:
- Proficiency in both Mandarin and English is essential.
- Previous experience in hosting, retail/sales, guiding, or guest service.
- A passion for movies, visual effects, graphics, and/or novels.
- An upbeat and enthusiastic attitude with a strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
Hours
Our facility operates seven days a week, with opening hours ranging from 8 am to 8 pm seasonally. We are looking for individuals with flexible availability throughout the week and on weekends. These positions are casual (on-call), meaning there are no set shifts.
Other Key Information
As part of our recruitment process, you will be required to answer a few brief video-based questions to help us get to know you better. Induction and training will commence in mid-August, and the training is fully paid. The hourly rate for this position is $27.80.
