Flooring Installer - ANTARCTICA

We are currently seeking expressions of interest from experienced Flooring Installers to work at McMurdo Station in Antarctica during the upcoming summer season. About the Role This exciting opportunity runs from October 2025 to March 2026, with deployment expected around October. The roles we are offering are not for the faint-hearted, as you will be staying for several months in one of the most isolated yet breathtaking locations in the world. As a Flooring Installer, you will be part of a large commercial construction project focused on interior flooring installation. Your responsibilities will include preparation work, base leveling, laying carpet tiles, installing rolled vinyl flooring, and ensuring clean and accurate finishes. While the tasks may vary, they can also be repetitive, so precision and consistency are key. A strong background in commercial flooring installation is essential for success in this role. Requirements We are looking for hard-working team players who are willing to contribute to the project and support one another. Please note the following requirements: - Only New Zealand and US Citizens with New Zealand or US passports who are currently and permanently residing and working in New Zealand may apply due to travel restrictions. - Applicants must be willing to receive Flu, Tdap, and MMR vaccinations. - These positions are not 'fly in fly out' (FIFO); you will be on site for an extended period. - Expect to work long hours, six days a week. - Start dates are approximate and depend on passing medical and dental checks, obtaining security clearance, your notice period, and ice flight availability. - A pre-employment drug and alcohol test is mandatory. - Candidates must possess a Full Class 1 NZ Driver License and have a clean criminal record. - The application process is lengthy; therefore, patience is required. - You must be willing to travel to Tauranga for medical and dental exams, with travel costs covered if coming from outside the Bay of Plenty.
