About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced leader to join our team as the Engineering and Maintenance Manager. Reporting to the National Technical Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing engineering and maintenance strategies across our operations network, which includes two manufacturing sites, quarries, and our Ravensdown-owned store network. This position requires a positive mindset and strong relationship management skills, enabling you to effectively engage with various stakeholders. You will focus on ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and compliance of all physical assets, including production equipment and infrastructure. Additionally, you will oversee initiatives related to our capital asset management system, aligning them with our long-term business goals, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. You will have one direct report and an indirect report focused on the capital asset management system. Your leadership will support our operations team in delivering quality products on time and in the appropriate locations to meet our service level targets, all while prioritizing safety and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities - Drive efficiency and continuous improvement to establish the most competitive manufacturing site in Australasia. - Develop and maintain a national engineering strategy that aligns with operational goals. - Deliver on safety, well-being, and sustainability targets, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and resource consents. - Foster a collaborative culture among maintenance teams, striving for consistency and excellence. - Provide high-quality advice and expertise on complex projects as needed. - Ensure thorough assessment and implementation of engineering and asset management strategies across the business. - Identify and implement initiatives for continuous improvement to enhance asset performance and minimize downtime. - Stay current with relevant engineering practices and advancements. About You We are looking for a candidate with operational expertise, a strong engineering mindset, and a passion for safety. You should be well-organized and capable of developing long-term asset management strategies. Your effective communication style will help set clear expectations and directions for your team. With a commercial outlook, you will be adept at strategic thinking, problem-solving, and driving continuous innovation. Your ability to engage, influence, and collaborate with others will be essential for success in this role. Skills and Experience - Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering. - A minimum of 10 years of engineering leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. - Strong understanding of commercial and industrial facilities maintenance. - Experience in managing contractors and multi-site operations. - Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills. - In-depth knowledge of asset management systems, reliability engineering, and regulatory compliance. - Solid financial acumen and business management knowledge.
