About the Role We are excited to invite a skilled Container Hoist Operator to join our high-performing team at our busy Tauranga Depot. Please note that this is not a truck driver position. We are looking for team players who wish to elevate their hoist operating skills by working with our 50-tonne container handlers. While previous experience as a container hoist operator is preferred, it is not essential; however, candidates must have confidence in operating heavy machinery. Position: Container Hoist Operator - Night Shift Location: Sulphur Point, Tauranga Hours: Monday to Friday, 6 PM – 4 AM, with additional hours available for those interested. This is a full-time, permanent position with a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week, although the required hours for the role can reach up to 50 hours. What You Will Do In this role, you will support ground operations by moving containers around the yard as needed. Clear and cooperative communication using radio communication (RT) will be essential. You will operate a single or double stacker container hoist, assisting with container stacking up to a maximum height of eight containers (with a maximum rated capacity of 45,000 kg). Additionally, you will be responsible for the loading and unloading of trucks and work areas as required, while ensuring adherence to all health and safety procedures. What We Need To be successful in this role, you should be punctual, reliable, and possess a strong work ethic. Essential requirements include: - Full NZ Class 1 License - Industry experience operating heavy vehicles and a confidence in working with heavy machinery - A demonstrated commitment to Zero Harm and safe working practices - Flexibility and adaptability to work across various company sites as needed - A team player mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with others - Clear communication skills using radio communication (RT) Please note that a container hoist operates differently from a standard hoist or forklift. Training will be provided to ensure you can operate this machinery safely and effectively.
