About the Company
We are excited to announce the upcoming opening of our brand-new PAK’nSAVE in Rolleston in October 2025. Our goal is to become the leading low-cost supermarket in New Zealand, dedicated to serving one of the country’s fastest-growing communities with exceptional value and outstanding service. We are currently seeking an ambitious and motivated Produce Second-in-Charge (2IC) to join our team.
About the Role
As the Produce 2IC, you will play a vital role in shaping our store from the ground up. You will help build a dynamic team that brings fresh energy and meticulous presentation to our produce section. In collaboration with the Store Manager, you will ensure the team remains focused and motivated, stepping in to lead when the Manager is unavailable. Your attention to detail will be crucial in maintaining smooth operations within the department.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Lead the team, ensuring momentum and morale remain high.
- Assist in onboarding and training new team members to help them acclimate.
- Oversee fresh produce displays, stock levels, and quality standards.
- Maintain an attractive, well-stocked department that is always ready for customers.
All team members will be required to work either a Saturday or Sunday shift. Start dates will be staggered leading up to our October opening. We will confirm specific hours and dates with successful applicants before finalizing roles.
Requirements
We are looking for individuals who bring energy, structure, and accountability to their work, whether you are an experienced 2IC or a Supervisor ready to advance. Ideally, you will possess:
- Experience in produce at a 2IC or Supervisory level, preferably in a supermarket or FMCG environment.
- Confidence in managing staff, stock, suppliers, and compliance requirements.
- The ability to foster a team culture built on trust, performance, and service.
- Strong organizational skills, approachability, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- An understanding of food safety, stock control, and customer expectations.
Benefits
Joining our team means you will have the chance to:
- Contribute to the establishment and growth of a brand-new store from day one.
- Be part of a leadership team committed to doing things right for customers, our team, and the wider community.
- Work for a trusted brand infused with the energy of a fresh new opening.
- Enjoy a modern, purpose-built work environment with opportunities for personal and professional growth.
