We are pleased to partner with Godfrey Hirst, a leading company in the industry known for being an employer of choice. Our Oamaru location is looking to expand our Maintenance Team as we welcome new talent following the retirement of a long-serving team member.
About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Maintenance Fitter to join us on the day shift. In this role, you will report to the Engineering Manager and play a key part in ensuring that all plant and machinery are maintained to operate efficiently. Your primary responsibility will be to address breakdowns promptly, helping us meet production demands while minimizing downtime.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A Trade Certificate Level 4 in Fitting/Turning or Maintenance Diagnostics, or an equivalent qualification
- A minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance role
- A proactive mindset with a strong instinct for fixing and improving machinery
- A commitment to workplace health and safety
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Immediate full New Zealand work rights (Resident, citizen, or open visa)
