Bitumen Sprayer Operator - Far North

About the Role We are currently looking for a skilled and dedicated Bitumen Sprayer Operator to join our team in the Far North. In this role, you will play a vital part in our road construction surfacing projects by operating bitumen spray trucks and ensuring the safe and precise application of bitumen on various road surfaces. Key Responsibilities Your primary responsibilities will include: - Operating bitumen sprayer trucks and related equipment on job sites. - Applying bitumen to roads and surfaces according to project specifications. - Conducting daily pre-start checks and performing routine maintenance on equipment. - Monitoring bitumen temperature, spray rates, and coverage. - Collaborating with site supervisors, traffic controllers, and crew members. - Maintaining accurate records of work completed and materials used. - Adhering to all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: - Proven experience operating bitumen sprayers in road construction. - A minimum Class 4 licence; a Class 5 licence is preferred. - DG endorsements are required. - A strong understanding of bitumen application techniques and safety protocols. - The ability to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Desirable Qualifications Additional qualifications that would be beneficial include: - First Aid Certification. - Mechanical aptitude or experience with minor equipment repairs. - Fluency in the English language.
