About the Role
We are looking to fill three positions for Fruit Production Supervisors. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising daily orchard activities and ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining crop health. Your leadership will play a vital role in training our workforce and implementing best practices throughout the orchard.
Location: Tauranga, Bay of Plenty
Pay Rate: $28 – $36 per hour
Hours of Work: 30 – 40 hours per week
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you should possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role or hold a Level 4 qualification in horticulture or a related field.
Key Responsibilities
As a Fruit Production Supervisor, your main responsibilities will include:
- Supervising and coordinating daily orchard operations and seasonal tasks.
- Monitoring plant health, irrigation systems, and pest/disease control measures.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards as well as company protocols.
- Training and guiding orchard workers on best horticultural practices.
- Planning and implementing work programs for pruning, thinning, and harvesting activities.
- Maintaining accurate records of crop performance and operational activities.
- Liaising with management to report on progress and resolve any operational issues.
- Overseeing the use and maintenance of orchard machinery and equipment.
- Managing workforce scheduling and task allocation to enhance efficiency.
- Implementing quality control measures to ensure high standards of crop production.
