About the Role
We are seeking exceptional caregivers and support workers to join our team. Our clients require assistance with daily activities, companionship, and support in their homes. In this role, you will empower clients to achieve their goals while being part of a caring and supportive team. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting with personal care tasks such as showering, toileting, and dressing
- Facilitating passive exercises and stretches
- Performing household duties and meal preparation
- Driving clients in their vehicles to appointments, work meetings, and community events
We believe in providing consistent care, and we prefer candidates who can commit to 2-5 shifts per week over a 7-day period, which may include weekends, though not necessarily every weekend.
Requirements
To thrive in this position, you will need to possess a unique set of qualities. We are looking for individuals who demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and the ability to follow established processes. A proactive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong community focus are essential.
Additional requirements for this role include:
- Excellent communication skills
- A minimum of a Level 2 Health and Wellbeing qualification (or equivalent)
- Residence in the Wairarapa region
- Regular availability for shifts
- A current, clean full driver’s license
- Previous experience as a caregiver or support worker with similar clientele
- The legal right to work in New Zealand
- A positive and energetic demeanor, along with a good sense of humor
- Reliability, punctuality, honesty, and a caring nature
