About the Role
We are currently seeking a Team Leader for our Te Whata Moanarua, Allied Health Therapies Services. This permanent, full-time position involves managing a multidisciplinary team within a portion of our Allied Health Services. You will receive strong support and work closely with the Manager, three other Team Leaders, and our clinical Professional Leads.
In this role, you will be responsible for the operational management of our Allied Health therapies team in various settings, including the medical acute environment, Emergency Department, the Acute Assessment Unit, and the Children's Hub Social Work team.
About the Service/Location
Te Whata Moanarua, Allied Health Therapies is based at the Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Hastings. Our service comprises multiple teams, including Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Speech Language Therapy, Dietitians, and Allied Health Assistants. These teams work across several areas, including:
- Acute surgical, medical, and rehabilitation multidisciplinary teams for both adults and pediatrics
- ORBIT Front Door Emergency Department multidisciplinary team
- Physiotherapy and Hand Therapy Outpatients

About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic and clinically experienced registered Allied Health Therapies clinician who is passionate about their work and ready to take the next step in their career. This role is ideal for an experienced clinical manager or an individual seeking a career change into a leadership position.
To succeed in this role, you should possess demonstrated leadership skills and a proactive approach to leading teams. A clinical background with a current practicing certificate and a solid understanding of both Allied Health and the acute health sector are essential. Strong communication skills and strategic thinking are crucial.
You should be capable of applying a multidisciplinary model of practice to achieve the best patient outcomes while valuing the diversity within our workforce and the various disciplines in our service. A passion for quality improvement initiatives, as well as familiarity with change management principles, is highly desirable.
