About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Electrician to join our Ironmaking team on a permanent basis. This role is essential to the repair and maintenance of operational plant and equipment throughout the Iron Plant. You will be part of a well-established team committed to implementing innovative, sustainability-focused solutions, ensuring that Steelmaking has a robust future in New Zealand.
The position involves 8-hour workdays, with the potential for 12-hour shifts depending on operational requirements.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to bring the following skills and qualifications:
- A fully registered Electrician with a current practicing license
- Experience in a medium to heavy industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of PLCs, drives, and high voltage systems
- A strong team-oriented mindset while also being comfortable working independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient computer literacy, along with strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- A positive attitude with a willingness to take ownership of your work
- A proven record of good attendance and work history
- Experience in instrumentation would be advantageous
