About the Role
We are currently looking for experienced Concrete Workers to join our Transport and Infrastructure division. This hands-on position is integral to our projects, involving the preparation, placement, and finishing of concrete, as well as engaging in general civil construction activities. You will collaborate with a skilled crew to ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting with site set-up and preparation for concrete works
- Installing formwork and frameworks for concrete pours
- Placing, screeding, and finishing concrete, including exposed finishes
- Efficiently using hand tools, small plant, and materials
- Maintaining safe working practices and complying with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements
- Communicating effectively with supervisors and crew members
- Completing assigned tasks within required timeframes
- Being available for occasional weekend or on-call shifts as needed
Essential Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A full Class 1 New Zealand driver licence
- Proven experience in concrete placement and finishing
- The ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- A physically fit disposition and capability for manual labour
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and teamwork skills
- A commitment to safe operating procedures
Desirable Skills
While not essential, the following skills will be advantageous:
- Experience in footpath, road, or civil construction projects
- The ability to operate small plant or machinery
- An understanding of site sequencing and work instructions
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop new skills
